Adult Ministry

Sunday School - Sunday 9:30 am to 10:30 am

Adult Christian education includes a variety of course offerings which change throughout the year. The class leaders strive to include theology, practical living and fellowship elements into their classes. Several Adult Christian Education classes are offered each Sunday:

Evangelism Explosion
Evangelism Explosion trains laymen in how to present the gospel and share their faith. The participants are then mobilized into teams that call on visitors to our church. They are also equipped to witness more effectively in various life style situations. The curriculum was developed by internationally-known PCA pastor, Dr. D. James Kennedy. Currently, visitations are taking place on Sunday afternoons. See Chuck Frick or Len Stewart to get involved.

Japanese Ministry

Japanese Ministry at Proclamation Presbyterian Church provides spiritual growth and fellowship for our Japanese neighbors. The ministry consists of Bible Studies for both men and women, English as a Second Language classes as well as a Sunday Worship Service. This year, a Summer Bible School Program will be available for all ages.

Japanese Worship Service - Sunday at 11:00 am
A worship service is conducted in Japanese every Sunday at 11:00am in Room 046 on the lower level. It is led by Pastor KiSup Lee.

Leadership Class
Leadership Class, offered periodically, is a 10 week course. Completion of the course is required if you want to serve in a leadership position in the church. The course covers the Westminster Confession, "The Westminster Larger and Shorter Catechisms", history of the Protestant Reformation and Westminster Assembly; Biblical leadership, spiritual gifts and the body and finally, Biblical qualifications for church officers.

Missions Ministry
The Missions Committee actively seeks ways to promote and participate in Christ's Great Commission. There is an annual Missions' Conference and periodic missions trips. Check our Missions page for the missionaries and agencies we currently support.

New Members Classes - Spring and Fall
New members classes are held in the Spring and the Fall for approximately eight weeks. All are welcome to attend and learn the history and theology of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) as well as get acquainted with the various ministries of Proclamation.

Pro-Life Ministry
The Pro-Life Committee acts as a source of information on matters relating to the pro-life issues through a Biblical awareness of the sanctity of all human life. See statement of our Pro-Life position at www.prolifeforum.org

Small Group Ministry
Small Group Ministry offers opportunities to study God's word or related material, fellowship, pray, and enjoy the special relationships that come through the shared experiences of God's people. A listing of the current Small Groups may be downloaded here.


Men's Ministry

Men's Ministry
Men's Ministry holds an annual men's retreat and prayer breakfast. These events foster fellowship and spiritual growth of the men in the church and community.

Men's Bible Study - Wednesdays, 7:00 pm (Room 238)
The men involved in this Bible study are discussing Paul's letter to the Ephesians, led by George Welsh. Come join us for a time of food, fellowship, intercessory prayer and interactive study of God's Word. For more information, contact Dave Moneymaker or George Welsh.

Music

Children's Fine Arts Camp
A week long summer day camp is offered during July for children ages 7-14 where they can experience the arts first hand. Choir, handbells, drama, art, as well as instrumental instruction culminate with a performance and exhibit of their work at the end of the week.

Handbells (Soli Deo Gloria) - Thursday 5:30 pm
The handbell ensemble is open primarily to adults, but high school students are welcome. Novices are welcome to join as well. The ensemble plays regularly during morning worship and special musical events. Rehearsals are on Thursdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Covenant Kids - Saturday 9:00 am to 10:00 am
This musical training program for children ages 4-6 includes vocal training, music theory, biblical songs, ear training and more. Meets one day a week for one hour.

Daughters of Zion & King's Singers - Sunday 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm
The Daughter's of Zion is our girls' choir for ages 7-middle school. One and one half hour rehearsals include voice training, music theory and handbells. The group performs several times during the year and performs a musical with the King's Singers annually. The King's Singers is our boys' choir for ages 7 to voice change. One and one half hour rehearsals include voice training, music theory and handbells. The group performs several times during the year and performs a musical with the Daughters of Zion annually.

Renewed - Sunday 5:30-6:15 pm
Proclamation's choir for middle and high school students, Renewed gives our young people an opportunity to sing varied music genres.

Chancel Choir - Thursday 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Singing adults are invited to join. The choir sings on Sundays at the 11am worship service and once a month at the 8:15 a.m. service. There are special choral events throughout the year.

Worship Team
Vocalists and instrumentalists are encouraged to join this ministry team. The Worship Team leads hymn/chorus singing with a contemporary flair.

ACM (Alliance of Christian Musicians)
The Alliance of Christian Musicians, founded by our music director, encourages and promotes Biblical standards and excellence in performance in the field of church music. If you have any questions about our music programs please contact Vince Treadway at 610.520.9500.

Proclamation Instrumental Ensemble
They perform in services as well as in the community and in concerts, using a wide variety of music. Proclamation Instrumental Ensemble is for interested instrumentalists who want to use their musical talent to glorify God. They perform in the worship services at PPC.


Outreach

Amachi - Mentoring Outreach
A West African term meaning "Who knows what God has brought us through this child," is the name of a new partnership of Philadelphia-area churches and nonprofit groups. It is a faith-based mentoring program for children whose parents are or who have recently been in jail. To learn more about this outreach, call Pastor Paul Karlberg at 610-520-9500

Tape Ministry
Tape Ministry includes recording the sermon and various Adult Sunday Schools lectures each week.

English As a Second Language - Monday at 1:00 pm
For those interested, there is also a Japanese women's Bible study that meets weekly Tuesday at noon.

Third Sunday Lunch
Everyone is welcomed to a congregational meal which meets monthly after the 11 am worship service. Third Sunday Lunch is our way of welcoming newcomers and visitors to Proclamation. Our monthly congregational meal, provided by rotating church ministries, gives visitors, members and regular attenders an opportunity to fellowship together. Third Sunday Lunches will commence again this season on October 21, 2007.


Senior's Ministry

Seniors' Ministry (EAGLES)
EAGLES strives to provide fellowship to our Encouraging, Active, Godly, Loving, Energetic Seniors through special speakers, monthly luncheons and outings. In addition, EAGLES provides the vehicle for our Seniors to minister to others.

Junior High Youth Group - Wednesday 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm
Proclamation Junior High Youth Group meet on a weekly basis for fun, fellowship and Biblical instruction. Special events and activities occur throughout the year.

Women's Ministry

Proclamation Women
Proclamation Women seeks to encourage and equip women of all ages to develop a sense of community and compassion within the congregation. In addition to Bible study, there are a number of fellowship opportunities for women in the church. For more information on any of our women's activities, contact Annette Hunsaker .

Our Women's Bible Studies, held on Wednesday morning and Wednesday evening (weekly) at the church will resume in September.

Tuesday Evening Bible Study is held on the first Tuesday of every month at 7:30 pm in the West Chester area. For more information, contact the group's teacher, Patti Karlberg (610-380-6456).



Young Adult

College & Career Class - Sunday 9:30 am to 10:30 am
A discussion of Jerry Bridges' book, "Trusting God in Uncertain Times" taught by Mike & Julie Sulc and Ozzie Osgood


Youth Ministry

Girls Alive - Wednesday, 7:00 pm-8:30 pm
Fellowship and fun for girls 1st -5th grades. This is a ministry in which mothers train daughters to become effective disciples for Christ. For more information, contact Jennifer Superdock 610-527-6149.

Junior Church - Sunday during the Worship Service
Junior Church is offered during the 11:00 am Worship Service for children ages three through the second grade. Older children remain with their families in the service. Junior Church uses the LIFE curriculum to guide the children to consider the wonder and mystery of God.

Nursery - Sunday from 9:30 am through the Worship
Nursery care is provided for infants and children to two years starting from 9:30 AM. A brochure detailing our entire nursery program is available in the narthex.

Sunday School - Sundays 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM
Sunday School instruction is provided for children from early childhood to Senior High. The curriculum utilized for the majority of the students is Great Commissions. In addition, a two-year curriculum focussing on the Westminster Shorter Catechism is used in the seventh and eighth grade class.

Vacation Bible School - Summer
Vacation Bible School runs for one week during the summer as an outreach to the community and the young children in the church body. The week includes Biblical instruction through skits, memory verses, crafts, and games. Children ranging from age 4 to those that have completed 6th grade are welcome to attend.

Communicants' Class
Led by a member of the Pastoral staff, the Communicants' class is held annually for 5th and 6th grades during Sunday School. This course provides a doctrinal foundation and understanding of the sacrament of Communion, and prepares the children for church membership through discussion and workbook lessons.
