Para-organizations

Proclamation Presbyterian Church has helped launch two para-organizations:  Proclaiming the Word and The Providence Forum.

Proclaiming the Word
The mission of Proclaiming the Word is to demonstrate through preaching, teaching, and contemporary interviews that reformed gospel teaching has the solutions for a thirsting soul and hurting world.

The Providence Forum, seeks to re-instill and promote a Judeo-Christian worldview within our culture. By emphasizing the historical Judeo-Christian roots of our nation, the Forum intends to advance the faith, ethics, and moral values which are consistent with the spirit of our nation's founding.

The following are books written or co-authored by
Proclamation's Minister Emeritus, Dr. Peter A. Lillback.

Lessons on Liberty by Peter Lillback and Judy Mitchell began with an engaging alphabet poem by PeterLillback and his avid interest in and study of our nation's earlyhistory and flags. He reasoned, "what better way to continue toinstruct young minds in our country's rich heritage than to punctuatethese two with a definition of a key word from his poem andcorresponding quotes from the Bible and Poor Richard's Almanack?" Toknit these elements together, coauthor and illustrator Judy Mitchellresearched and created the facing pages. Believing the premise thathistory can be fascinating and fun, the authors followed paths thatpiqued their own curiosity, and they are sure this gem will excite theimaginations of readers young and old!   Available at The Providence Forum.

Wall of Misconception by Peter Lillback.  The "wall of separation between church and state" is a phrase not found anywhere in the Constitution, but activist judges have recklessly used that phrase to stamp out public religious expression.  Consequently, schoolchildren are restricted from praying, the Ten Commandments and other religious symbols have been stripped from public buildings, and the term "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance has been called "unconstitutional."  Dr. Peter Lillback exposes the church/state separation myth that has led to such actions in his groundbreaking book entitled Wall of Misconception.   Available at The Providence Forum.

George Washington's Sacred Fire by Peter Lillback with Jerry Newcomb is published by Providence Forum Press (2006). Representing over a decade of scholarly research. this hard-bound edition  demonstrates from the General's own words and deeds that he was, beyond any doubt, a devout Christian. Available at The Providence Forum.

The Binding of God: Calvin’s Role in the Development of Covenant Theology by Peter Lillback. For those interested in Calvin, Covenant Theology or the development of Reformation and Post-Reformation thought. Available at Westminster Seminary Book Store.

The Practical Calvinist Edited by Peter Lillback. This book was written in honor of D.Clair Davis’ 70th birthday and 30 years at Westminster Theological Seminary. It has over 20 contributors from Westminster. Available at Westminster Seminary Book Store.
