Emily Woo

I was born in Chicago, IL and grew up in Basking Ridge, NJ, as a covenant child. I received my B.S. in Human Biology, Health and Society with a Minor in Music from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, and then moved to the Philadelphia area to study at Westminster Theological Seminary. I started attending Proclamation during my first semester in seminary and became a member in December 2018. I received my Master of Arts in Religion, Biblical Studies concentration, in May 2020 and started interning at Proclamation as a Youth Ministries intern the same year. I completed my Children’s Ministry Certification from the PCA CDM - Committee on Discipleship Ministries in 2022 and received my Masters in Early Childhood Education from Temple University in 2024.

In addition to being Proclamation’s intern from 2020-2022, I have worked as a full-time teacher at Main Line Classical Academy in Bryn Mawr, teaching Bible classes and English to students in Kindergarten through 5th Grade. I am currently teaching elementary grades in the Tredyffrin/Easttown school district, even as I fulfill my role as Children’s Ministry director here.

I love serving Christ’s church, teaching God’s Word, and being with children of all ages. My desire is for children to know God’s Word and to come to know Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.

I am currently living with my younger sister, Erika, in Berwyn. When I’m not working, I like to visit my family, sing, play the piano, read, play board games, and hike.

My prayer is from Philippians 2:17: “Even if I am to be poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrificial offering of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all.” I pray that the Lord would help me to pour out my life for the sake of His kingdom and that I would rejoice in whatever He has set before me to do.
